21st Century Troubadours: Saturday, February 10 | 9pm

February 4, 2024

Musical love letters from Shara Nova’s chamber opera You Us We All are included in this episode.

by Maggie Molloy

Long before the days of singer-songwriters, troubadours were writing love songs for the hopeless romantics.

In medieval times, troubadours were poets and musicians who wrote songs about chivalry and courtly love. But of course, love and heartbreak are pretty timeless themes—and composers today are still writing love ballads for the hopeless romantic.

This Saturday on Second Inversion, love is in the air and on the airwaves. In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, we’ll hear modern spins on the age-old love ballad. Songs about love, songs about heartbreak—and songs about online dating nightmares.

To listen, tune in to Classical KING on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 9pm PT.
