Celebrate the First Notes of the Season with Classical KING and Live Music Project
September 8, 2026
Discover the concerts beginning across the Northwest, and find your next live music experience through the Live Music Project calendar.
There is a special kind of anticipation at the beginning of the concert season. Across the Northwest, musicians are gathering; rehearsals are beginning, and choirs, orchestras, chamber ensembles, opera companies, and other performing arts organizations are preparing to share months of extraordinary music.
This September, Classical KING and Live Music Project are celebrating First Notes of the Season, an invitation to discover the performances beginning in communities throughout our region. By bringing concert information together in one accessible calendar, the campaign gives listeners another way to explore local music and find a performance that speaks to them.
Find the music waiting for you
The Northwest’s classical music community includes everything from neighborhood ensembles and intimate recitals to major orchestras, opera productions, and choral concerts. Each offers its own opportunity to hear something new, return to music you love, and experience the connection that happens when artists and audiences gather in the same space.
From September 14-27, Classical KING will help listeners explore concerts listed through Live Music Project and discover what local organizations have planned for the season ahead.
Visit the Live Music Project calendar to browse upcoming performances and begin planning your season of live music.
Music organizations: Add your concerts
If your organization is presenting concerts this fall or winter, we want listeners to find you.
Add your fall and winter 2026 concerts to the Live Music Project calendar by September 13 to be included in the First Notes of the Season campaign. Listing concerts is free and gives audiences another way to discover your organization and find their next live performance.
Organization submission deadline: September 13
First Notes of the Season campaign: September 14-27
