Celebrate Brazilian Music! 

Monday, August 11 through Friday, August 15 

Through food, media, and culture, the world today is connected on a global scale. You can say the same for classical music! This week we are highlighting music featuring composers, performers, and conductors of Brazilian heritage. Coleridge-Taylor’s 150th

British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor was born 150 years ago this Friday, August 15th! Help us wish him a happy birthday with Coleridge-Taylor programmed throughout the day.

Unusual Instruments

Host: Maggie Molloy 

In the 21st century, anything can be a musical instrument and we’re excited to welcome some new ones to the stage this Saturday on Second Inversion. “Unusual Instruments” is the theme! From typewriters to toy pianos to two-by-four planks of wood, we’ll hear works that bring unexpected instruments center stage. Plus, a composer who turns the tables on the traditional classical concerto.

A Dog’s Life 

Saturday, August 16 | 4pm 

Join the pack and take a walk with Edmund Stone as he brings you music from films about our best friends in A Dogs Life. Canine companions from The Call of the Wild, The Secret Life of Pets, The Peanuts Movie and As Good as it Gets will make you laugh, smile and perhaps even wipe away a tear or two. 

 

Summer Blockbusters

Sunday, August 17 | 4pm 

This Sunday on The Score Edmund Stone has your ticket to music from Hollywood’s biggest films with the 2025 Summer Blockbusters. Relive the adrenaline rush from Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, bond with an alien in Lilo and Stitch, plot with Wes Anderson and an all-star cast with The Phoenician Scheme, more. Grab some popcorn and celebrate summer cinema!
