Seattle Opera
Strauss: Daphne in Concert
Saturday, February 14 | 10am
Seattle Opera brings Strauss’s Daphne to the concert stage! Richard Strauss’s seldom-heard pastoral opera tells the mythic story of Daphne, who finds love in nature rather than in human romance. When rival suitors and divine intervention shatter her world, Zeus grants her wish to become one with nature, transforming her into a laurel tree. Members of the Seattle Symphony fill the orchestra in this concert presentation.
