The world’s largest chamber music party returns as Classical KING broadcasts Seattle Chamber Music Society’s 2026 Summer Festival. Marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, this year’s festival highlights composers who have helped shape the American classical voice, with each program featuring a work meaningfully connected to the U.S. Tune in for world-class chamber music throughout the festival!

Listen Live at Lunch: Two Lilies

Held at First Lutheran Church Tacoma, this midday performance showcases the artistry of two accomplished musicians while continuing the series’ tradition of making live classical music accessible to the community.

PLU Summer Opera Workshop: The Merry Widow

Eastvold Auditorium, Pacific Lutheran University, Parkland

Pacific Lutheran University’s Summer Opera Workshop presents Franz Lehár’s  operetta The Merry Widow, the culminating performance of an intensive program in acting, movement, and vocal performance. Showcasing the talents of emerging singers alongside PLU faculty mentorship, this lively production offers audiences the chance to experience one of opera’s most enduring comic classics.

Greenwood Concert Band at the Ballard Locks

Enjoy a summer afternoon of live music as the Greenwood Concert Band performs a free outdoor concert at the Ballard Locks. Presented by the Friends of the Ballard Locks as part of their Free Summer Concert Series, this family-friendly performance pairs community concert band favorites with one of Seattle’s most iconic waterfront destinations.

Magnolia Lutheran Church Summer Concert Series: Mary Douglas at the Console

Saturday, July 18 | 7pm | Magnolia Lutheran Church, Seattle

Experience four centuries of organ music as Magnolia Lutheran Church organist Mary Douglas presents a solo recital featuring works by J.S. Bach, Pachelbel, Florence Price, and others, alongside the world premiere of a new work by composer Manar Hashmi. Part of the church’s Summer Concert Series, the program highlights both the enduring traditions and evolving future of organ music.

They are the stuff that dreams are made of, with wheels. Cars are more than transportation, they can be status symbols, secret weapons, time machines and ego trips. Next time on The Score, let’s get behind the wheel of some of the most intriguing – or absurd – cars ever imagined, as only Hollywood can. Join James Bond in his Astin Martin DB5, The Ghostbusters in the Ecto 1, and take a ride with Lightning McQueen and Sally Ferrara in Cars – and more.
