Classical KING welcomes the holiday week with Seattle Center Classical, a Seattle Symphony broadcast of Stravinsky’s The Firebird, and special musical celebrations honoring both Canada Day and U.S. Independence Day.


Seattle Center Classical

Sunday, July 5 | 12pm–6pm | Seattle Center International Fountain

Experience a full day of free live classical music at Seattle Center Classical, an outdoor celebration designed to bring music beyond the concert hall and into the heart of the community. Centered around The Concert Truck stage, presented through Seattle Chamber Music Society, the festival features performances by leading Pacific Northwest arts organizations including Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, Early Music Seattle, Greater Seattle Choral Consortium, and Seattle Chamber Music Society. Relax on the International Fountain Lawn, connect with local arts organizations and community partners, and discover classical music in a welcoming, open-air setting. Whether you’re a lifelong listener or simply curious, Seattle Center Classical invites everyone to experience Classical Music for Everyone.

Seattle Symphony: Stravinsky the Firebird

Friday, July 3 | 8pm

Host: Maggie Molloy

Let Classical KING bring the concert hall to wherever you are as the Seattle Symphony performs Stravinsky’s The Firebird. Conducted by Andrew Litton, this broadcast features the celebrated suite drawn from the groundbreaking ballet that launched Stravinsky’s international career and helped redefine orchestral music in the 20th century. Filled with vivid orchestral color, The Firebird remains one of the composer’s most beloved and frequently performed works.


Music Feature: Let’s Play SEA ’26

As fans from around the globe gather in the Pacific Northwest, Classical KING joins the celebration with a soundtrack inspired by the nations competing on the world stage. On match days in Seattle, hear works from the countries taking the field as we celebrate FIFA World Cup 2026 through music.

Seattle Center will serve as one of the city’s official fan celebration sites through Let’s Play SEA ’26, featuring public match viewings, cultural festivals, and community events that welcome visitors from around the world to the heart of Seattle.

Music Feature: Canada Day

Happy Canada Day to our neighbors to the north! As a station serving listeners across the Pacific Northwest, Classical KING celebrates Canada’s national day with music by Canadian composers, conductors, and performers. Throughout the day, hear works that reflect the rich artistic traditions and cultural contributions of Canada while honoring the musicians who continue to shape the classical music world on both sides of the border.


Music Feature: U.S. Independence Day

Happy Fourth of July! Join Classical KING throughout the day for music inspired by American composers, traditions, and musical landscapes as we mark U.S. Independence Day. Then cap off your celebrations with a special Fireworks Hour from 10pm–11pm, featuring music selected to accompany fireworks displays across the region.

Evergreen Community Orchestra & Navy Band Northwest:America’s 250th Anniversary: A Salute in Concert

Tuesday, June 30 | 7pm | Historic Everett Theatre, Everett

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a free evening of patriotic music as Evergreen Community Orchestra joins forces with Navy Band Northwest for a special concert honoring the nation’s history and the service of local sailors and aviators. Featuring beloved American favorites, traditional marches, and a new work inspired by the Pacific Northwest, the program brings together community musicians and the Navy’s premier regional ensemble in a tribute to service, citizenship, and shared musical traditions.

Ladies Musical Club: What Time Is It Anyway? Across a Day in American Song

Take a musical journey through the day as the Ladies Musical Club presents What Time Is It Anyway? Across a Day in American Song. This all-American program explores different moments from dawn to dusk through a collection of vocal works organized into four themes: Daybreak, Midday, Evening, and Dawn. Presented at the Seattle Art Museum, the concert offers a creative look at American song while showcasing the Ladies Musical Club’s longstanding commitment to music education, performance, and community engagement.

Concerts in the Barn: Fulton Street Chamber Players

Saturday, July 4 | 2pm | The Quilcene Barn, Quilcene

Celebrate the Fourth of July with chamber music in a uniquely Pacific Northwest setting as the Fulton Street Chamber Players perform at Concerts in the Barn. Featuring works by Carl Nielsen, Edvard Grieg, and Ludwig van Beethoven, the free afternoon concert combines world-class musicianship with the relaxed atmosphere of a historic working farm. Bring a blanket, explore the grounds, and enjoy an intimate performance that reflects the ensemble’s commitment to making chamber music accessible, engaging, and deeply connected to community.

The History of America According to Hollywood: Part 2

This Saturday on The Score Edmund Stone celebrates America’s birthday with a look, through the cameras of Hollywood, at the country’s history. From pre-colonial days as depicted in The New World, to the Civil War in Glory, through the westward expansion in Dances with Wolves, and life in post-World War II era with The Best Years of our Lives, it’s a dazzling musical depiction of some of the highlights of our history.
