Public Radio Music Day 2023 at Classical KING 

Public Radio Music Day is October 25, 2023. What is the Pacific Northwest’s classical station doing to celebrate?

LOCAL PERFORMANCES ALL DAY

Classical KING Music Director, Aaron Stoess, has curated a special playlist for our hosts to share with the community featuring  performances by Pacific Northwest artists, including: 

Seattle Symphony, Camas Quintet, Seattle Baroque, Tacoma Concert Band, Northwest Sinfonetta, Seattle Marimba Quintet, Seattle Baroque Orchestra, Capella Romana, Seattle Choral Company, Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival, Northwest Boychoir and Girlchoir, Byrd Ensemble, Seattle Pro Musica, Morten Lauridsen, Seattle Men’s chorus, Opus 7 Vocal Ensemble, The Esoterics, Seattle Girls’ Choir, Lisa Bergman, Hillary Field, Michael Partington, Craig Sheppard, Nyaho/Garcia Piano Duo, Mina Miller, and more. CLASSICAL KING EXCLUSIVE VIDEOS FEATURING YOUNG ARTISTS

Videos of the winners of the 2023 Frances Walton Competition, recorded during Classical KING’s local performance show Northwest Focus Live, will be posted on NPR Live sessions Gracie Potter, Yvette Kraft, Kodak Quartet and the Classical KING YouTube Channel. The Frances Walton Competition is a program of the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle. The 2023 winners performed on Northwest Focus Live on September 8 and 15.

SPECIAL EVENING MUSIC HIGHLIGHTING RECENT PERFORMANCES BY YOUNG ARTISTS ON CLASSICAL KING 

Beginning at 8pm on Public Radio Music Day, Sean MacLean will feature highlights from recent episodes of Northwest Focus Live featuring the winners of this year’s Ladies Musical Club Frances Walton Competition.
