How is Music Chosen for the Station?

We carefully curate the balance of different elements in our programming in response to what the listener base enjoys. Given that we serve between 200,000 and 300,000 people each week, the taste palette that Classical KING’s programming must cover is quite broad. We understand that no individual will enjoy every single piece we play. However, we strive to program the station in such a way that the vast majority of the listeners enjoy what they hear at any given time. Even with this broad approach, please do not hesitate to contact us to share your thoughts about Classical KING programming; we use messages from listeners to shape our programming. If we receive the same or similar messages from many listeners, our programming is more likely to change in order to accommodate the specific desires of those listeners.

Submitting Recordings for Consideration

We regularly receive new recordings of classical music from record labels, individual artists and ensembles. If you have music you wish to submit for consideration for our Classical KING 98.1 FM channel, Calm by Classical KING Channel, Christmas by Classical KING Channel, or music for Second Inversion please send your digital links to our Music Director, Aaron Stoess. We are always listening and looking out for more great music to include in our library.

Broadcast Concerts

Our Broadcast Concert schedule starts to be built in summer and is updated throughout the year. We are interested in local ensemble performances that have broadcast ready recordings who are interested in being considered for this program. We seek performances from within 18 months of the rebroadcast air date.
