Calling All Musicians: Perform the National Anthem at T-Mobile Park

July 24, 2026

Classical KING and the Seattle Mariners are teaming up to celebrate music and Seattle’s creative spirit at T-Mobile Park.

As part of Classical KING Night at the Ballpark on Saturday, August 22, 2026, we’re inviting local musicians to submit a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the chance to take the field before the Mariners face the Chicago Cubs.

Whether you’re a vocalist, instrumentalist, solo performer or part of an ensemble, this is an opportunity to share your artistry with thousands of fans in one of Seattle’s most iconic gathering places.

Why Classical KING and the Mariners?

Classical music belongs everywhere; in concert halls, classrooms, community spaces and yes, even at the ballpark. This partnership brings together two beloved Seattle institutions with a shared goal: celebrating local talent and creating a memorable community experience.

For the Mariners, the contest highlights the musicians who help make the Pacific Northwest such a vibrant place to live. For Classical KING, it’s a chance to champion local artists, introduce classical music to new audiences and bring our listener community together for a summer evening of music and baseball.

Building on last year’s partnership, this year’s campaign continues to celebrate the connection between music, community and America’s pastime while giving one local performer or ensemble a moment they’ll never forget.

Why submit?

Performing the national anthem at T-Mobile Park is a rare and exciting opportunity to share your music on a major stage. The winning performer or ensemble will take the field before the Mariners game on August 22 and help set the tone for Classical KING Day at the Ballpark.

Artists of all ages are encouraged to apply. Soloists and ensembles of up to 20 performers are welcome. If you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to perform for a stadium crowd, this is your chance.

Your submission doesn’t need to be overly produced. We want to hear your musicality, your interpretation and your voice. Bring your own style to the anthem and show us what makes your performance memorable.

Contest details

Submissions are open now through August 10, 2026.

The winner will be announced on August 17, 2026 and will perform the U.S. national anthem at T-Mobile Park on Saturday, August 22, 2026 before the Mariners take on the Chicago Cubs.

Eligible performers include vocal and instrumental musicians, either as soloists or ensembles of up to 20 performers. Keyboard instruments are not eligible. Singers must perform without a backing track or auto-tune technology and anthem performances must be under 90 seconds.

The winner must be available on August 22 for a 1:15 p.m. soundcheck, 3:15 p.m. call time and anthem performance at approximately 4:00 p.m.

How to enter

To enter, submit a short video of your national anthem performance by August 10.

Your video should give the judges a clear sense of your performance style, musicality and readiness to perform live at T-Mobile Park. Solo performers and ensembles are both welcome.
