Concert halls and art music and ivory towers are great—but when it comes down to it, composers often find inspiration a little closer down to earth.

This Saturday on Second Inversion: Music of the People! Music of bars, farms, and backyard jam sessions. From the vibrant rhythms of Peru to the treasured melodies passed down through the women of Haiti, we’ll hear folk music from across the ages and around the globe. One composer finds inspiration in the corn-grinding chants of his Navajo ancestors, while another traces the threads of American roots music. Plus, a piano from Zimbabwe that can fit in your hands!

To listen, tune in to Classical KING on Saturday, May 24 at 9pm PT.
