Ladies Musical Club of Seattle presents the 2025 Francis Walton Competition Winners: ZaRiah!

Threads of Peru

Host: Maggie Molloy 

Got time to squeeze in one last trip this summer? How about a quick visit to South America this Saturday? No passport needed… This Saturday on Second Inversion, we’re exploring the sounds of Peru—through the music of Gabriela Lena Frank. The composer traces the threads of her Peruvian heritage, from the rhythm of the charango to the rich colors of Peruvian textiles. Plus, music inspired by the folklore of the Inca Empire. 

 

The Score with Edmund Stone 

Grandparents Day 

Saturday, September 6 | 4pm 

This Saturday on The Score Edmund Stone celebrates Grandparents Day with films featuring grandparents in a starring role. Have fun with the The Princess Diaries. Enjoy zingers slung by Lady Violet in Downtown Abby. Get to know the ancestral family wisdom in Coco and the fierce grandmother in Minari, this is the music for matriarchs and patriarchs with pizazz. 

 

By the Book 

Sunday, September 7 | 4pm 

There’s nothing like curling up with a good book, except perhaps watching a movie based on a good book. This Sunday on The Score, Edmund Stone has volumes of entertainment for you with “By the Book”. Enjoy music from films based on classic and contemporary books including The Last of the Mohicans, Pride and Prejudice, Crazy Rich Asians, Dune and more.
